One Minute Wonders
STRETCH TIME
Time — or lack of time — can be a real stressor in our hectic lives. This exercise calms your mind, so you can get back into flow and accomplish what you intend.
LAZY EIGHTS
This eternal symbol of timelessness & eternity is perfect to restore your focus and concentration. Let this boundless, eternal energy fill your body and feed your soul. It will also open you up to creativity and insights. Turn to it as often as you like.
YMCA
Song and dance are powerful ways to change your state. With this exercise, as you lift your arms and head upwards you begin to take on more positive energy. Exercise opens your body to free this flowing energy, while the music soothes your spirit and lifts your mood. You’ll end feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
FLUSH IT!
The power of this exercise is in getting what’s on your mind out of your mind and onto paper, so you can get it into perspective. That, in an of itself, can be a huge relief. More so, when you can flush them all away. This doesn’t mean you don’t have to deal with them. You’ve just taken the pressure off and given yourself the resourceful headspace to do so more effectively.
Clearing the Crap
This is a great way to rid yourself of bad energy — when you work in a stressful environment, you’ve just had an argument or run-in with someone, empathise, or take on someone else’s bad vibes.
Unless you clear this negative energy away, it sticks to you and begins to impact you both physically and mentally.
Wiggle your Ears
If you're running on empty, or just low on energy, this exercise will release energy blocks, relieve stress and leave you feeling relaxed, refreshed and energised for the rest of your day.
There are myriad acupuncture points all around the ear lobe and within the ear, each one corresponding to vital organs and energy flows within the body. Giving the ears a good massage stimulates these acupuncture points, frees up the blocks in energy throughout your body. You may feel a frisson of energy as you do so — proof that it does indeed work.
Dust Yourself Off
Sometimes our energy gets stuck and leaves us feeling low or out of sorts. This exercise nourishes and refreshes you by gently wafting your energy field. Play Clearing the Crap first to clear your energy field before you begin.
Look Up!
It’s impossible to feel bad about yourself when you’re looking up, and impossible to feel good about yourself when you’re looking down. This is how your mind affects your body and vice versa.
Stretch
With Wiggle your Ears and Me Tarzan, this is the perfect way to start your day — BEFORE you get out of bed.
Make sure you stretch every muscle. Repeat as many times as you need.
ME Tarzan, You Jane
This exercise stimulates the thymus, immediately releasing feel-good hormones throughout the body. Use it for a quick energy pick me up. Or just to get going on those mornings when you really can’t be asked…
Have a Drink on Me
If you’re irritable or edgy, overworked or tired, it may be due in part to the fact that you’re dehydrated. Dehydration weakens you physically and stresses your body unnecessarily
Stop the Clock!
Like Stretching Time, this exercise works by calming your mind and forcing you to drop your preoccupation with time. Once you do this, you relax, and find you can do more with the time you have available to you.
Metallic Cat Suit
This little exercise is preventive. Turn to it BEFORE you begin your day, or step into a situation you know will be stressful. Turn to it any time you feel stressed, vulnerable or insecure.
